We are in Singapore. We didnt proceed with the trip. My bro's family and my mum went ahead. My sis decided not to go too since the original plan is for her to tag along with me.
Lil Shauna's fever spiked last evening. At its peak, she measured 39.0 degress. For that hour or so, her temperature hovers at 38.5 to 38.9 degree. She was given medicine and her temperature drops subsequently.
She puked 3x so far. Once right before bed which got me into a frantic change-bedsheet-mode. The 2nd time was this morning. She puked liquid bcos she refused her milk since 5+pm last night and there was basically nothing much to puke. Poor baby. A 3rd time after we forced her the antibiotics. She cried, cough and puked the antibiotics + her morning milk feed. Poor us. It is so hard to feed her the medicine and milk now. She basically rejects all milk + food. Haiz, I think she's going to lose weight. Heart pain.
She still gets slight fever every now and then and is super cranky. We called off the travel plan to not risk finding medical attention in Malaysia if her fever spikes again. It is so obvious when her fever hits bcos she will have no mood and energy for anything. Once the fever goes away, she will start monkeying around. This cycle can repeat itself so many times in a day.
I hope hers is a good case and she gets to recover in 3 days. Today is day 2.

No Going to Genting
Yes, our dreams of going to Genting has burst again. It seems as if we are jinxed, not to step foot into Malaysia. Our last trip to Malaysia lasted as far as the Malaysia custom. This time, we were plagued by more misfortunes.
Felicia fell prey to flu and fever last week. As H1N1 was peak, the doctor actually advised minimal contact. We isolated the babies for 2 days. Seeing that Felicia was recovering, the plan for further isolation was called off. Her fever came on and off but her flu persisted. My mum insisted on going home.
Fione came down with slight fever over the weekend. Then came the running nose & cough, but the fever went off soon.
Then, my FIL came down with high fever last night. His fever was as high as 39 degrees. Fearing infection and that he has a underlying medical condition, he was sent to TTSH and was warded since last night. I was telling my mum that if the condition does not improve, Daddy Lim will probably stay in Singapore while I & Lil Shauna proceed with the trip.
I spent the night at my mum's place. The whole night, Lil Shauna was turning and tossing. This morning, she felt warm. -.o" We fed her medicine but her fever still shot. Daddy Lim sent her to the PD and she was diagnosed with thoat infection. PD warned that her fever might spike to 39 degrees anytime and has given us 3 different types of fever medication for different degree of fever. We were advised to drop our travel plans even if her fever drops today. In a good case, she will take about 3 to 5 days to recover. In a bad case, at least a week.
So, we are going to call off the trip to Genting. My bro's family, mum & sis are still proceeding since the air ticket and hotel has been booked. Daddy Lim and I will still be on leave to take care of Lil Shauna since my mum will not be around. Haiz.
I was feeling so much fustration and anger this morning. I felt so helpless and duno who I can channel my anger at. Whose fault? Who pass the virus to Lil Shauna? The girls? Whose fault is it that made Lil Shauna caught the virus? We had been looking forward to the holidays so much. Now, we are back to nothing. I still dun get my well-deserved break.
I am still angry. I can almost feel my blood boiling.

Stinky Feet
We bought Lil Shauna a pair of beautiful shoes some time ago.
Not only is it in pink, it is so pretty and Lil Shauna loves it bcos it is so soft. It also slides on easily. No need to struggle with the wriggling baby. The only flaw is that it doesnt go well with socks and Lil Shauna has been wearing it so very often without socks.
The result? Yes, stinky feet and there's no prize for guessing it right.
After prolong and frequent wearing, both Lil Shauna's feet and the shoes smell big time. It is really, really stinko. It smells salty and sour and bad at the same time. That day, when I took off her shoes in the car (passenger seat behind), Daddy Lim who was sitting in the driver seat complained that he can smell the aroma. Hohoho. And the smell stays for a long time.
The smell doesnt go off with washing. Her feet still smells even when I soap and wash between her toes each time she baths. -.o" The shoes had been washed but the smell still lingers too, promising a stronger comeback the next time.
As a result, we created the "chou, chou" game. I will smell Lil Shauna's smelly feet and exclaim "chou, chou"! Then I will make her smell her own smelly feet and go "chou, chou". Finally, I will make whoever is around smell her smelly feet and go "chou, chou" each time. Nobody is spared, no even the dog. Lil Shauna will be happily smiling each time we play this game, even when she's the one smelling her own feet. Haha. The surprise outcome? She has learnt how to say "chou, chou".
I think the shoes cant last long. It is ok. Mummy will buy more pairs to replace this beautiful one. Hoho.

Pix Updates
If you haven realised, my recent posts are without pix. That is bcos I am either too lazy to upload pix or had been blogging from the office. Why? Bcos I am so addicted to the Korean drama, Boys over Flowers. Hohoho. I only get to watch it after tucking Lil Shauna to bed and can only watch a little each night. So I basically has no time to blog from home at night.
I had already watched the drama once in super sonic speed with lots of fast-forwarding. I am now watching at leisure for a 2nd time. Daddy Lim was amazed at how I can watch it 2x. Strange meh? It is like reading magazines mah - browsing thru' the 1st time and reading into details the 2nd time. I love Korean drama. I watch dramas after dramas crazily before we had Lil Shauna. No such luxury now. Haiz.
Anyway, I bet you must be missing Lil Shauna like mad. Some pix and videos to share.
The chicky top & matching bottom that we got for her. Sob, it is a little too small! Must quickly wear more times before she grows out. She looks like a big girl in this pix, doesnt she?
I think Lil Shauna will be as good a driver as Daddy Lim. Why? Bcos she can steer 2 steering wheels at the same time! Lil Shauna is crazy over this kiddy ride in Suntec. She will definitely want to sit in it when we walk past it while walking aimlessly in Suntec.

All About Lemon and Nana
Lil Shauna is learning to speak. However, she has yet to acknowledge us as Pappy & Mummy. -.o" Some of the words that she can say include "throw", "ball", "bird", "duck".
That day, Daddy Lim was wearing a T-shirt with a big dog. Lil Shauna pointed at the dog and say, "dog - oh, oh, oh". :)
Yday, we were playing with flash cards. She would usually make a mess. Yday was no different. She was stepping and bending and torturing the flash cards. We would read her whatever that we pick up from the mess and those that she handed to us in her usual "nah" style. Then she picked up this flash card with a lemon and said "lemon". We were caught by surprise and suspected that it is coincidental. Anyway, I found "banana" out of the pile and asked her what is that, which she promptly replied "nana". Hohoho. You should have seen the smile on Daddy Lim and my face.
But, nana was all she could recognise. We showed her apple but she kept shaking her head. It must be bcos that apple is green (should be red mah) and the apples that she has seen (given to her) are all skinless, either whole or sliced and they look nothing like teh apple in teh picture. Haha.

Sneak Out
I must blog about this before I forget. Talking about forgetting, my memory is really bad recently. Haiz. I bet Daddy Lim cannot agree more.
Back to the point, we brought Lil Shauna to nainai's place last Sunday and Daddy Lim and I managed to sneak out to North Point for an hour without the baby! Daddy Lim had wanted to buy a new HP. We make sure that she had her milk, clean diaper, happily walking around before we sneak out. We got nainai to lure her to the kitchen while we escaped. It was so super nice to shop without the baby. Haha.
I was worried about them unable to handle the baby. The last time we left her at nainai's place was when she's barely 6 months' old and Daddy Lim and I went to shop for HP too (yes, Daddy Lim's HP spoilt like nobody's business). Barely 15 mins away, Lil Shauna was crying badly and we have to cut short our trip and ran back to pacify the crying baby. Thereafter, for the next few Sundays, she cried whenever we entered nainai's place and there are a few times that I have to stand outside the house, in the corridor to stop her crying. Since then, we have not tried leaving the baby alone.
Last Sunday? We called back about 30 mins later and they assured us that everything is in control. When we were back one hour later, Lil Shauna was happily eating papaya. She had a puzzled look when she saw us entering the house. I bet she didnt realised that her parents were missing until then. -.o" What kept her entertained? Food and lots of walking along the corridor to look at birds and the MRT and also watering of plants. Nainai was totally glad to have Lil Shauna and didnt at all mind taking care of her for that hour.
Hohoho, we are so looking forward to such sneaking out. It looks like we can go for movie soon. ;p

Sick!
The little niece is down with flu. A fever came along this morning. She has seen the doctor and the doctor asked for close monitoring since H1N1 is everywhere now. No further test was done but she is to be sent off to KKH if her condition worsens. The doctor also advises minimal contact with other kids.
We are supposed to go Genting in 1.5 weeks' time. My sis is flying off to Bali this Wednesday. Super duper bad timing. Anyone down with flu & fever is unlikely to be allowed to board the plane. My mum brought Lil Shauna, my sis, the maid and the elder niece to our home in the afternoon to try to minimise contact. They only went home after dinner when the little niece has turned in. The elder niece will be sleeping with my mum tonight.
Coincidentally, I experienced great fatigue too this afternoon. It was so bad that I could hardly stay awake and concentrate. Then I started sneezing and I could feel the sore throat coming. Towards the end of work, the fatigue was almost gone but the sneezing came. Now, my nose is badly blocked and I kept sneezing. I hope no fever comes along. -.o" Maybe I am the one with H1N1 and I actually passed it to the little niece. Arrggghhhh.. I want to go Genting!

Break
Daddy Lim is out for his jamming session. Lil Shauna is already in dreamland.
It is so peaceful and quiet now. I actually like this stillness. Hohoho. I quite enjoy not talking to anyone and surfing the net.

Updates: My peacefulness was interrupted by an enormous cockroach. -.o"
I was settling to bed, about to drift off to dreamland when I notice the giantic cockroach on the toilet door frame. I try not to disturb the sleeping baby and attempt to kill the cockroach with insecticide. I was quite worry that it will start flying. Yes, all cockroaches that made it into our unit are uber big flying cockroaches. -___________-"
I was so generous with the insecticide. The cockraach fell and started crawling into the toilet. I sprayed more insecticide into the toilet, shut the door and block whatever opening with floor rag. Then I called Daddy Lim and he offered to clean up the mess when he returns. He is no hero hor. He oso scare of cockroaches de, but bo bian. Hohohoho.
I felt so uneasy when I settled into bed again. All the happiness, peacefulness that I hd a while ago was all gone. Pui!

Handmade Vest
I have a colleague who is super good at knitting. With her as the shi-fu, the girls at the office have gone crazy recently and they are all busy making scarf and shawl and baby dress and what have not. But truth be told, I am really impress with what my colleagues can create and I am amazed when I saw the scarfs and shawls taking shape.
Since we are going Genting at the end of the month, I got the shi-fu colleague to help knit a vest for Lil Shauna. She's really quick and the vest is ready in 2 weeks.
Cool right! Such pinky colours somemore.

There's buttons at the side so that we dun have to worry about Lil Shauna's head growing too big. ;p
There was excess thread left. So the colleague made a little sling bag for Lil Shauna. It was uber cute.

It is sometimes impossible to shop in Jurong Point (JP), especially on Friday evening and the weekends. This is the case even with the opening of the JP extension. It is as if all the Westerners flock to JP at the same time. With a Lil Shauna who loves window shopping and wants to go into every shop, going to JP during teh peak hours can be challenging.
Suddenly, the empty mall looks so big. Lil Shauna had a wonderful time exploring and walking up and down the mall. I think we should visit JP more often when it is quiet and people-less.
Side-tracking... Remember all those kiddy rides that we used to take? Those where you slot a 20 cents coin to give you music and rocking motion? The kiddy rides nowadays are so much more beautiful.
The 3 babies can comfortably fit into 1 machine.
But they are awfully expensive too. No more 20 cents ride. Each ride now cost at least $1. The big and beautiful ones (like the ones above) cost $2 each time! And once the babies get started, they couldnt stop. They just want $$ to ride again and again. -.o" Now I feel the impact of inflation.

Daddy Lim got to work late last Sunday and he brought us to breakfast at Swensen in JP extension. Yes, Lil Shauna is a princess. On a normal Sunday, she will get to eat Mac breakfast. On special Sundays, she get to eat Swensen or Cafe Cartel's breakfast. Hoho.
While waiting for breakfast to be served, Lil Shauna roamed the mall.

Things Do Not Go My Way
The plan was to knock off at 6.30pm and not pick baby up for the night. Daddy Lim has offered to send me to Central to meet up with the girls for dinner to celebrate Me Teo's bday.
If I cant get off at 6.30pm, then we will do Plan B, which is to still not pick baby up but go catch a movie instead. There's Ice Age 3 and Transformer.
At 6.30pm, I know that Plan B is in the pipeline.
However, I didnt get to go at 8pm. Poor Daddy Lim was already waiting at the gate.
I was stuck in the office until 9pm.
It was too late to catch a movie.
Whilst on the way home, we were wondering what we should do. I called my mum and she said that Lil Shauna was almost to dreamland and forbid us to disturb. We miss Lil Shauna.
So, there was no dinner at Central, no Ice Age or Transformer and no baby. Sob.
Daddy Lim suggested to go pa tor. But where to go at 9.30pm in the night?
He suggested sitting in the park downstairs but it doesnt make sense when our home is just a lift away and the sofa is so comfortable.
We ended up back at home, staring at the TV and eating ice cream from the tub.
Hohoho, simple things can be so joyful at times.
Awww... I miss Lil Shauna. Must try doubly hard to go home early today to spend time with her.

Busy
I was still busy last week despite that my boss is back.
This was bcos my super big boss calls for some urgent meeting that leaves us very little preparation time but many things to put together. I hate going to meetings unprepared but prepared or not, the meeting goes on and I have to attend. God has been kind. While my boss was on ML, there was no or few of these last minute meeting. Otherwise, I think I would have died.
Maybe things are a little better now? Wel, instead of staying 3 nights until 8pm, I only stayed 2. But I brought work home on Friday night and had to come back on Saturday, which was my off. -_____-" It is ok. Things will get better. For one, I am going Genting with my family at the end of the month. Then I am gg cruise with the Ong Family in end August. Hohoho. Life should be this way mah.

Sexy Baby
Mummy brought me to Suntec City again today. She calls it "aimless walking", but to me, it is a great deal! Walking in the big shopping mall is definitely more interesting that staying at home. Moreover, I get to eat great stuff like you teow and ice cream and there are just so many things to look at. Of course, there are so many opportunities for Pappy & Mummy to splurge on me. Like today, I got a set of new clothes bcos Pappy likes the matching bottom. Hoho.
I get to dress up too. Well, if it makes Mummy happie, I am quite alright with what I wear. Mummy decides that I will go 'sexy today" and made me wear a pink tank top and this really small shorts. I dun mind the skimpy clothes bcos I got "liao". Hehe. But Mummy made me wear white stockings which made my legs look fat. -.o" Arrrggghhhh, my legs are skinny ok, it is Mummy's wrong choice of clothes. I must make a mental note to protest against white stocking the next time. But Mummy was very pleased with her choice of clothes. In fact, she seems proud and kept telling Pappy and Popo that I look so uber cute. Pls Mummy, I need to look skinny and sexy, not cute and definitely not chubby or with thunder thighs lor.
So, to make sure that I get the "right" attention from the handsome gorgors who also roamed the mall, I decided to put up a little show.
First, I find a pole. Then I did a little dance.
A little tap here and and a small swing there.
Hold the pole and then walk to the other side and look away + sexy.
Look at your feet and look to the left.
Finally, show a little belly and walk off.

Apple
We had been feeding apples to Lil Shauna recently. We bit off the skin and gave her the whole apple to bite. Now that she has 4 front teeth on top and 4 more below, she's quite an expert scrapping off the flesh. In fact, she loves to do so. The only problem is to make her swallow what she had bitten off or at least to spit it out. She's like a little hamster, she bites and chews and keeps everything in her mouth. It is very obvious. With all the chewed apple in her mouth, she just refuses to open her mouth and you can see her chewing every now and then. -.o"
After awhile, Daddy Lim will polish off the remaining apple. I think he stands to gain more. Hoho.
We taught Lil Shauna how to say "apple" and were very surprised that she caught it so quickly. And that, everything else becomes apple. -.o"

The "No, No" Baby
Lil Shauna has learnt to say "No". She basically shakes her head.
It is quite amusing to see the baby shakes her head. We tried teaching her to nod her head but arent quite successful.
Ok, she's expressing herself, just that she shakes her head at Everything and at every question. But she does mean it sometimes. Other times? Hmm...
Luckily, we still get her to agree even when she shakes her head sometimes. I am not sure what happens in the future. -.o"

Jeans
Buy the teddy bear and you get the baby for free!
Lil Shauna is wearing jeans wor. I bought this for her sometimes back and was waiting for her to grow into it.
It is still a little too big. It hangs loosely on her hip after she started walking. So glad for the diapers. Actually, she looks quite stylo with the baggy jeans. Hehe.
Oh, Lil Shauna can now hold her own bottle.
Finally...Mummy Lim
Upgraded
Lil Shauna had been attending the Gymbabes class from Tumbletots. The class is made up of lots of climbing and music and dance. Lil Shauna always take a while to warm up but always enjoy herself by the end of the class. The only problem is that there are not many babies and the class always get cancelled, sometimes even at the every last min, which leaves us very frustrated.
The Gymbabes class got cancelled again last Sunday. So, we join the Walker class instead. Yes, Lil Shauna has been upgraded! She is officially a walker now. Hehehe.
The class is for babies who are walking to 2 years' old. Lil Shauna happens to be the 2nd youngest. There were 4 other babies in the class and oldest is already 22 months old. Babies at this stage are really cute. I found the oldest one so amazing when she respond to command and dance along to action song. I wonder when will Lil Shauna be like her. She still stares blankly at the teacher sometimes. -.o"
There is more interaction between the babies too. Lots of running into each others' path, snatching each other toys, etc. At one point, a gorgor even fell on Lil Shauna, giving her a fright and left her in tears. Bad gorgor!
The only setback is the timing. The class starts at 10.30am, which is very close to Lil Shauna's morning nap. After the class yday, the baby was hungry and tired. She fell asleep before finishing her bottle.
We are going back the next time. Oh ya, the Little Gym is opening a new outlet in Marina Square and they are offering FREE trial! I am bringing her for the trial for the sake that it is free. With it located at Marine Square, I have to think 2x before signing Lil Shauna for the package. It is not cheap too, double of tumbletots wor.

Teeth Arent Good
Lil Shauna was happily walking in the room last night with Daddy Lim looking after her. She accidentally tripped over Daddy Lim's leg and fell. Daddy Lim attempted to catch her from falling, which he did. But she still ended up crying.
When I was with them, Lil Shauna was already crying badly. Daddy Lim was feeling bad. Then there was blood at her mouth. -______________-" I tot that she was bleeding from the gum. Actually, she bled bcos her teeth bit her gum when she fell. Daddy Lim felt so bad.
We tried all that we could to pacify her. In no time, she was monkeying around and giggling away. She seems to have forgotten that she just bled from her gum a while ago. But Daddy Lim was still feeling bad this morning. Hohoho.
See, teeth arent that good afterall. Awwwww... I miss her toothless grin. ;p
