Fight!

Some days last week, when I stepped into Centris, I saw an angry Lil Shauna standing in the middle of the living room and Popo was lecturing her. Thinking that she had done something wrong, I asked her sternly what happened. She didn't speak but Felicia was really helpful and narrated the whole episode. Apparently, the kids were playing musical chairs and they couldn't agree on the number of chairs to use, which resulted in a fight. Fione hit Lil Shauna and the angry girl wanted to fight back and was stopped by Popo. She refused to let the matter rest until she got the chance to hit back (literally) at Fione and when she had, she scratched Fione instead, knowing that it would hurt her more that way. Oh my…. And so she was being lectured and you can tell from her body language that she still doesn't think she was in the wrong.

She soon started sobbing after Felicia finished the story. I soften, hugged her and told her that it is not right to hit back regardless. That was when she said in between sobs, “Pappy said that when people hit you, you have to hit them back!”. Errrr… I was speechless.

Yes, Daddy Lim told the kids that. I think the context was more so to stand up for oneself when they are being bullied and not so much as quarrel and fight. It then makes me wonder – is that the right thing to teach the kids? Parenting is tough.

Handsome Boy

A friend (Auntie LL) is getting married and she has asked the kids to be her flower girl and page boy. Lil Shauna is very excited and she agreed readily. She asked what kind of dress she would wear, what would she do and many other questions. Lil Isaac wanted to walk down the hall with Mummy and finally agreed to do so with jiejie after plenty of coaxing. We are now on a lookout for the kids’ clothes.

Lil Isaac will wear some tuxedo or formal suit and Lil Shauna will simply be in some pretty white dress. We decided to rent Lil Isaac’s suit since they don't come cheap (Kiddy palace sells a suit at almost $100) and it will probably land up in the drawer after 1 wear. Who wears formal suit for no reason especially in this weather? And the space in the drawer is already very scarce and precious.

The auntie operates from her flat and I realized that all they need was a cupboard. They have different sizes of a few styles of formal suits but they are all so small and take up little space. The suits are mainly in black and all look the about same after a while. Lol. Moreover, I think people who generally rent such suits for one-time use aren’t really particular about the style, like us. 

Lil Isaac tried on 2 black suits. He was very pleased with the reflection that he sees in the mirror. I must agree that he does look good. 

The second suit comes with a tail and makes him look like a magician. Lol. 

By then, he was warm and was monkeying around. He couldn't even stand still for me to take a proper picture.  

 Auntie LL wanted a grey suit initially but the auntie didn't have it in Lil Isaac’s size. Auntie LL decided on the first suit eventually. 

I hope Lil Isaac doesn't ruin Auntie LL’s big day by crying or running off in the middle of the walk.

Still Sick Part 2

Lil Shauna is still sick. The fever appears to be subsiding and the intervals between the paracetamol doses have lengthened. We didn't have to resort to brufen yday. However, her tummy is still giving her problems, big problems. Popo said that she complained of tummy ache very often the whole day. The poor girl was also very hungry but started running for the toilet after food. She must have lost weight.

The runs also appeared to worsen in the afternoon and towards the night. She was complaining of tummy ache before bed but there wasn't any more medicine to give her having taken them a few hours earlier. She went to the toilet 2x in the earlier part of the night. I fed her medicine at 11.30pm and that helped her sleeps. At 4.30pm, she woke up complaining of tummy ache and for the next hour, she went to the toilet 5x. She said that she counted and had been to the toilet 20 times. I gave her Smecta, which is supposed to help with the loose tools but held back the medicine which will help to rid wind (and I supposed less wind = less pain), so that Popo has something to give her in the day and they will both suffer less. I presumed that sleeping helps to numb some pain. 

The night was torturous and I was zombiefied this morning. This is the 3rd night with very disruptive sleep. Lil Shauna is also tired out with the disturbed sleep but she gets to snooze in the day. At least she was without fever last night, which made running for the toilet less painful for her. On Monday night, she was so tired and sick that I actually found her sleeping on the "throne" during one of the runs. Poor girl.

The girl has skipped school for 3 consecutive day, which I don't find a big deal. Lil Isaac gets to skip school too. He has apparently refused to go to school too. Faint. I am so glad that it is PH tomorrow. I hope the poor girl will feel better with mummy by her side.

Still Sick

Popo called to ask about brufen in the late morning. Lil Shauna's fever has shot up. Popo said that the poor girl had countless runs in the day but she couldn't bring her to the doctor, especially when Lil Isaac refused to go to school and had been monkeying at home the whole day. I was on seminar for these 2 days and couldn't take leave. Daddy Lim had a difficult project and is very much stuck at work. Poor girl had to be home medicated and waited for mummy to come home before she could go to a doctor. Popo shared how Lil Shauna was slump on the sofa in the day while complaining of headache and tummy ache. Boo.

I reached home at 6.30pm and brought Lil Shauna to the doctor via the stroller. Daddy Lim was still very much stuck in the yard. The whole world seems to be sick at the same time as the poor girl. There were 21 people in the q at the 1st clinic that we visited. We went to the usual clinic some distance away and there were 25 people waiting in the 2nd clinic. The 3rd one told us that the waiting time could be up to 2 hours. Lil Shauna didn't look like she could spend 2 hours waiting to see the doctor.  Fortunately, we were the 4th in line at the 4th clinic. By then, I was perspiring and panting. The hot evening was adding on to my agony.

The doctor diagnosed her as stomach flu, just as we had guessed. The medication prescribed were almost what we had at home, including that prescribed to stop the runs. I think we can be doctors already.

Lil Shauna was lethargic for the remaining evening and was sobbing at the different medicines that she had to take but cooperated eventually. She skipped dinner but the runs appeared to continue. She had the runs 2x last night and fever peaked again at 1.30am, which was brought down by brufen. This morning, she was warm to the touch but at least not burning hot. The doctor said that the fever will take another 2 to 3 days to go away completely and the diarrhoea may linger on a little while more.  Poor girl.

I hope that Lil Isaac goes to school today. This will give Lil Shauna some peace at home and Popo some rest. The boy was so active yday and pestering jiejie non-stop to play yday. Haiz.

Sick

We had fun at Happy Willow yday. But Lil Shauna complained of tummy ache after we were home. The next moment, she was coming down with fever. Her fever went up to 38 degrees and I gave her paracetamol but the medicine didn't really manage to bring down her fever. I wonder if I had given her too low a dosage.

She woke up 2 times in the night for the toilet. Maybe she's suffering from stomach flu. Her fever hovers between 38 do 38.5 whenever I measured. I struggled but didnt give her brufen eventually.

I upped the dosage by a little in the subsequent doses of paracetamol that I gave. She was 38.9 degrees when I last measured before I gave her the medicine. Boo.

Poor Lil Shauna was clearly unwell, whinning and tossing throughout the night.  Poor me too. I know she will be in good hands with Popo. I hope Lil Isaac doesn't skip school today - a sick child is more than enuff to handle. It looks like we have to rely on self medication until Daddy Lim or I reach home tonight to bring Lil Shauna to the doctor. The pains of working parents. Haiz.

Mystery Solved

We now know who the big bouquet of flowers is for - a young colleague in the department. So how did we find out? Because another bigger bouquet came today from the same "bearbear". This time, there are 30 roses (20 the last time). Ouch, must have hurt the pocket. 

The flowers were attention to this colleague this time. At least the mysterious "bearbear" is cleverer now. The message that comes with the flowers was addressed to "deardear" this time and just as mushy. Lol.

Just in case you are wondering, this colleague did figure out who her secret admirer is eventually. And she is also the same person who took the 1st bouquet home as pre-mothers' day present. So all not gone to waste. Maybe she already know the first time. Ah, so good to be young.. plus rich suitors. Lol.

Lost Again!

We went scooting yday with Joshua gorgor and booboo at Botanic Park. They have been there many times. Now that Lil Isaac is less of a hazard to others and himself, we would leave him to scoot with the older kids. Usually, they would leave and come back together.

Yday was no difference. It was a freaking hot day and the adults were all hiding under the shade while the kids scoot. At one point, the kids went off together but the 3 older ones came back from different directions and Lil Isaac didn't come back!

We sent the kids to look for him. Daddy Lim and I also went 2 different ways to look for the boy. I was trying not to panic, but half thinking if we should make a police report if we can't find him. Then we spotted him and heard the jiejies yelling for him too.

He was coming from a part of the park that we don't frequent. He wasn't crying when we saw him and he said that he wasn't scare. He said that he asked an auntie for directions and got pointed to the right way back. We couldn't make sense of how did the auntie know where he came from. What's important is that he is safe. And whoever that auntie is, thank you for helping the little boy.

Blessed 35

So, I am 35! Do I feel like I am 21? Do I feel different? Of course not. Lol. But this had been a different bday for a long while and I do feel blessed.

It started with Auntie H’s bday present that I have received on Saturday. It turned out to be something that I was drooling over when I saw it at her place but never got down to buying. As you can see, I had put it to good use almost immediately. 

Daddy Lim got me the perfume on Monday evening. Due to the lack of time, he brought me along. Blehhh.. and had it gift wrapped somewhat in front of me bcos I wanted to feel present-cy. LOL. He did ask me if I wanted flowers. I paused and thought about it and still told him no. Flowers died and they are not cheap. Haha.

The kids helped me tear at the presents yday morning when I was babysitting them.  Then the kids made ice cream cupcakes and I realized that Lil Isaac’s fine motor skills have improved tremendously as compared to the last time we were at this. There was definitely lesser mess this time and we all had great fun. We made 6 cupcakes and almost finished the whole tub of ice cream. Of course we helped ourselves to the ice cream and toppings while at work. They were simply irresistible. Yes, it is not a skinny bday.

I also received my bday presents from the kids. I am pretty amazed at Lil Isaac’s drawing. He wrote his name (with plenty of guidance) and coloured the … circles?? They are now on my office wall. 

I came to work to find that my colleagues had ordered lunch to celebrate my and a colleague’s bday (2 days away) and munched some more despite already snacked at home. Oops, fat. Then, I was told that there was a mystery huge bunch of flowers in the office and they suspected that it was for me from hb but they couldn't be sure. Truth be told, I was excited!

However, the flowers came with a card and the message seemed strange. Daddy Lim never call me “galgal” and who is or where is the “bearbear”? Lol. I texted Daddy Lim who confirmed that it wasn't him. -.-“ He then said that he had wanted to (order flowers for me) but I rejected it and concluded that what people said of women is truth. Lol. 

Eventually, we concluded that it was a wrong delivery by the florist and we pitied the “bearbear”. That big bouquet probably cost a lot. A colleague took the flowers home, put them to good use and gave it as pre-mothers’ day gift instead. 

We had cakes and more cakes and I was yelling “sinful” and “fat” while chomping down those delicious cakes. I got a bag from my colleagues. Happy.

Eventually, I did receive flowers.. from ah yee, who is in far far away France. She read my blog and about the unusual urge to receive presents this year and sent those flowers to the office. So sweet of her and Uncle C! The flowers are now sitting in my office. After the excitement passed, I did wonder what am I supposed to do with the flowers. It seemed so wasted to throw them away when they died. Haha. I am indeed not a flower person.

Daddy Lim and I had a usual dinner before we picked the kids up. And I have got another bag from my SIL. Thank you!

Then, we headed home and had our cupcakes.

The cupcakes were really sinful. The ice cream was already fattening on its own and the kids had been really generous on the chocolates and oreos. Daddy Lim remarked that the cupcakes were too sweet and I cant help but agree. However, the kids love those and wolves them down. 

I had a happy day and felt really blessed with all the celebrations, gifts and blessing from family and friends over fb and watsapp. Looks like it isn’t so bad to be 35! Hohoho. Thank you to all for the love and blessings. Muaks.

USS Finally

Our weekends had been very much burnt since we shifted Lil Shauna’s phonics class to Saturday so that she can attend the full Sunday school. As a result, we haven’t been visiting USS for a long time. Our annual passes are expiring in late May and I don't think we will be renewing them. Then again, we have definitely fully utilized our passes. I think we had visited USS for at least 20 times in the past year and Lil Isaac goes in for freeeeeeee! We will have to get him a pass when he turns 4 in October 2014.

The kids had been asking to go to USS but Daddy Lim had been busy with work. We finally headed down on Sunday but it was a very, very hot day. It wasn't any more crowded than usual weekends but the heat just made it worse even though we were there only in the late afternoon. We ended up spending a lot of time under the shade, in cafes or shops, walking around or for indoor rides. Lil Shauna did complain a little about the few rides that we took but there were long Qs everywhere. 

She got to take many pictures with the mascot instead. Lil Isaac stayed far, far away.

But he was alright after a while.

It would have been much better if it wasn't so hot. I suddenly missed those overseas theme parks that we visited in the cool weather. We didn't even mind queuing for those rides. Daddy Lim suggested getting the express annual passes if we do get them again. He said that it would definitely make our visits more enjoyable. Hmm.. those express passes are not cheap. The annual passes are not cheap to begin with and each express pass cost $100 more. But I agreed that they really will make the visits more enjoyable and I am pretty sure that we can fully utilize those passes. Let’s see how it goes.

Happy 35

I have received my very 1st bday present from Auntie H on Saturday and I was happy. I haven’t been particularly thrilled at the idea of receiving bday/ anniversary/ Christmas presents for a long time. Afterall, I have reached a stage where I have the buying power to get whatever that I need/ want as and when and not have to wait until special occasions. Moreover, I don't do well with impulsive, big-ticket item buying. The tian wang yi and x-box sitting at home are perfect evidence and those were some occasion gifts if I remembered correctly. Lol.

This year, I feel different and I wanted bday gifts. Hehe. That was why I was happy to receive my very first bday present. I had asked Daddy Lim to buy me perfume and boots too. I haven’t found the latter but will be keeping a constant look out. 

I will be 35 this year. Time flies. 35 sounded really old to me a few years ago, but it didn't feel that old when I finally reach the milestone. Hmm.. it must be a magical age then. Lol. Auntie J says that turning 35 feels exactly like turning 21. I wonder what does that mean. Maybe she is in denial. Lol.

I am on half day leave tomorrow morning bcos I have to babysit the kids while Popo goes for her medical appointment. I think I will get a tub of ice cream later and will be making ice cream cupcakes with the kids before school tomorrow. Yeah, happy 35!

By the way, I have been holding on to the Auntie H’s present and am waiting for tomorrow to open the presents. On the other hand, Lil Isaac has been resisting the urge to help me tear open my presents. I caught him peeling at the wrappers on several occasions already. Lol.

40 Hours!

After our desperate attempts to volunteer for whatever PV duties that the school has put up, we have finally crossed the 40 hours mark today! To make sure that we have buffer, we still have 7 gate duties (which is 3.5 hrs in total) and 1 reading session (2 hrs) to go. 

Through these activities, I come to realise that WG is likely not any superior than the other schools in the neighborhood. But since we have completed our 40 hours, we will probably just stick to it. Well, at least their uniform looks decent enough. Lol. Now, we just have to wait for the admission exercise and also visit the few after-school student care centers (with Lil Shauna) in the vicinity. I am quite firm about sending Lil Shauna to a student care when she enters Primary One. Though I heard horrible stories about such student care, it still beats her wasting her time watching TV at home after school. 

Today’s PV duty was a breeze. We accompanied the students for their swimming lessons and there isn’t much for us to do. The PV ended early and I still have time for my morning coffee at MacDonalds and then shopping at JP before I head back to office. Happy.

Ah Yee's New Adventure

Time really flies. About 4 months back, ah yee packed her bag, flew to France and started her new adventure, sequent 1. She got married and changed her last name in this short span of time. I was sad when she left but happy at the same time that she had found her better half. I was also looking forward to her return 3 months from her 1st departure, upon the expiry of her social visit pass. She would then be back in Singapore to apply for her spouse visa and she mentioned that the spouse visa may take up to 6 months to approve. There were even plans for Uncle C to join her in Singapore for a family dinner aka wedding dinner when her visa is finally approved many moons later and then they will fly back together. That sounded pretty romantic. So I thought that we would have time to do things together when she is back.

She came back about a month ago. Then, she was busy catching up with friends, she had a couple of dinners with our family and we spent almost a week in HKG. She said that she will apply for visa when we returned from HKG as the embassy would need to keep her passport for 3 days. For some reasons, she was now told that the visa could take anything from 2 weeks to 2 months to be approved. Ok, 2 months sounded a lot shorter, but we still have time.

In less than a week that we returned from HKG, she told us that her visa was approved! What!? But I haven’t had my private date with her! Not fair! But that is the fact of life. Much as I would like her to stay in Singapore so that we can spend more time together, she said that her husband was waiting for her to go “home” and she too was eager to go “home”. It sounded so strange that now her “home” is not here but many kms away, separated by the oceans. My little sister is really a married woman now.

She quickly got her air ticket and arranged for the earliest possible date to fly home, to start her new adventure – sequent 2. We didn't have much time with her, we had a couple more family dinners and it was suddenly time for her to fly. I couldn't even manage to squeeze in a private date with her. 

The days before she was due to fly, I was actually upset and depressed. We all know that she will start her new life in France (I am truly happy for that) and will be there for many months before we get to see her again. Each time that we see her will be mere days before she jets off again. But I supposed we will get used to it after a while. I am also thankful for technology that keeps us connected but nothing beats a good meal/ coffee. It is also difficult to vent to her when popo gets on my nerve. Lol.

Then I thought about Popo. As typical Asian, she didn't expressed much when ah yee was back or even when she was leaving. She did appear to enjoy ah yee’s companion when she was back for that short 3 weeks. If I was feeling this upset, I bet she was feeling worse – her little girl is really literally leaving home. But I know that she is gladder that ah yee has finally settled down and nothing is more important than her finding happiness, even though she is 13 hours by plane away.

I may have the opportunity to visit Geneva again in September this year. Last year, we contemplated bringing the kids along but decided not to kill ourselves eventually. We had that same suicidal thought again this year. If that happens, ah yee can help Daddy Lim to babysit the kids while I am in the meetings. Thereafter, we can visit the other parts of Europe. Now, we only have to overcome the nightmarish thought of surviving the 13 hours flight. Let’s pray that Lil Isaac will grow up quickly in the next few months.

As for ah yee, she will be blessed and be in happiness always.

Almost Lost One Child

Of course you can guess which one that we almost lost - haiz.

We were getting out of the indoor playground at Polliwogs and had both kids with us. I was holding on and leading Lil Shauna and had assumed that Daddy Lim would take the boy, who was behind us. The playground was located on the second floor.  

The next moment, we saw that Lil Isaac was missing, the corridor was empty and he wasn't in the playground lobby too. Popo and I were running frantically and I was wondering if I should go back to the playground to see if he had sneaked back in. The next moment, Popo spotted a little person in blue walking aimlessly on the first floor, looking for his family. Haiz.

We didn't know for sure how did he end up there. He probably took the other stairscase down. He didn't look like he was scare and he didn't panic as we did. We tried to impress upon him what he did could have grave consequences. He looked as if none of those got into his head. Aiyo. 

We wondered if it is a matter of time that we would lose him again. If we had lost him yday, I wonder how we would be able to find him back. It was basically an open public area. I shivered at the thought.

The Dreadful "b, d, p, q"

Just when I blogged this morning about how easy spelling now is for Lil Shauna and how dreadful "b, d, p and q" are, Lil Shauna came back with an big "egg" for last week's spelling.

If you look carefully, she actually knows how to spell all the words, except that she mixed up for "b" and "d". Bleh..

Easy Breezy

I am now convinced that spelling comes with age.

When Lil Shauna was promoted in her LC and was 1st introduced to spelling, she wasn't even 5. For almost an entire year, we struggled with spelling and there were moments that I felt like crying and I also made her cried over spelling. Despite numerous practices, her spelling results were pathetic as compared to Felicia's almost full marks every time. It had came to a point that I had to recognise her efforts more than results. There were times that I felt at banging wall when looking at her spelling book but tried to assure her that it was alright since she had tried her best (and so had I).

Spelling somehow became easier towards the end of her K1 year. Something suddenly clicked and I think that has to do with age. We spent lesser time learning spelling and she came back with better scores.

This year is even better. Spelling is such a breeze now and she remembers what she learnt such that we need not pained ourselves having to revise and revise and revise... This is even when there are also spelling and 听写 in school and she's worried when we are not in time to learn, which was so different from the whinny girl whenever we had to learn spelling a year back. I am a happy mummy.

I wonder if I will have the same worry for Lil Isaac. For one, he is definitely not going to progress as quickly as jiejie in his phonics class. By the time he gets to learn spelling, he would probably be in K2 and spelling should be OK for him then. By the way, we have completed all upper case alphabets and I I am so glad that most lower case alphabets look similar to the upper case ones. We just have an issue with "b, d, p, q". Oh well, which kid doesn't.

Clocking our Precious 2 Hours

Daddy Lim and I have snatched up as many PV duties as possible so that we can meet our 40 hours requirement. We are nearing our 30 hours mark and have 10 more to go.

I am now in front of one of the school gates clocking my precious 2 hours from 12 noon to 2pm. I have escaped from office and would need to rush back right after the duty.

Today is the school's non-teaching staff day, whatever that is supposed to mean. So the non-teaching staff, which include the security guards, would be celebrating at the school hall and they would need somebody to guard the gates, right? Thus, here I am, taking over the security guards, looking after one of the gates.

Actually, it is not that bad. It is definitely much better than the last Newater Plant trip. At least I have peace and time to blog. And I get to sit down. But the weather is so freaking warm, I should have brought a book and an ice cold coke. Lol.

I have 1 hour and 15 mins more to go. Yawn. I wonder if I can sleep with my eyes open. Haha.

HKG Day 5

By the time we were in HKG, we haven’t decided on what to do on our last day. Originally, we had thought of visiting the Big Buddha. I have been to HKG several times but have never visited the Big Buddha and there were much rave about it on the internet. However, ah yee said that we would likely end up with bored and cranky kids and that puts us off. We needed a convenient place to visit, taking into account that we must be at the airport by 6pm.

Thank goodness for free wifi at the hotel. We eventually settled for Noah Ark’s, one of the attractions that we had considered earlier. It is near to the airport and they have luggage storage facilities.  

We woke up and took our time to do last minute packing before a leisure breakfast and then checked out. Then, we hopped onto the MTR to Tsing Yi. The train was fairly packed and we survived with Popo and ah yee’s extra hands. We would probably opt for something less adventurous if we had been on our own. It was impossible to handle 2 kids, 1 stroller and 2 luggages on our own via public transport to the airport.

Upon alighting at Tsing Yi, we had to take another public bus. By then, I think we were really tourist experts of the public transport system by then. Then there was more walking and climbing up and down the stairs before we finally reach Noah’s Ark. Noah Ark is located right next to a beach and the kids seemed more excited to play on the beach than Noah Ark.

Noak Ark is more than just about the biblical story. There were some creepy animals that the children can look at and plenty of green information to read up on.

One of the segments is rooms filled with children activities and they were crowded with HKGers. The kids don costume and pretended to be the circus master.

There were also activities to encourage visitors to embrace life and happiness. We go into this cubicle and chose one of the 4 strings to pull, signifying the choices that we get to make in life. Then different things will drop on our head. We were taught to embrace the different challenges in life. Lil Shauna and I had balls rained down our heads. Seeing balls, Lil Isaac wanted to try to but had water instead and ended up crying so pitifully. Lol.

We found lunch in Noah Ark and were surprised at how cheap the food were, like HKD 24 (S$4), only to amusing realize how small the portions were.

We were all attacking the small waffles/ pie/ pastsa and had to supplement with desserts. Lol.

We left Noah Ark at 4.30pm and took the airport express bus to the airport, which wasn't a long ride. Lil Isaac took his nap.

Time passed easily and soon it was time to board the plane.

Lil Isaac was very much awake this time, having awaken from his nap not too long ago. He waited impatiently for the plane to take off so that he could watch “TV”. Unfortunately Frozen was off the screen and Lil Isaac caught Tazan instead while having his kid’s meal onboard. 

I still prefer night flight where the kids just sleep. There were no other shows for him after Tazan ended and he was very noisy and cranky until the time that he fell asleep. Phew. Lil Shauna fell asleep too and we had to wake her up to make her walk off the plane. Lil Isaac had the privilege to be carried off the plane but he is seriously growing. My poor arms!

The taxi home was alright with the kids getting quieter along the way. Hehe.
We enjoyed our HKG trips, like all the rest of the holidays. I love holidays and I think Daddy Lim has caught my virus too. Right after the HKG holiday, he was asking me where we would go next. Hahaha. This will also be a holiday with ah yee and popo for a long time to come. The last trip with popo was a long time ago to Korea. She usually preferred not to tag along now that our trips are very kids-centric. She probably wouldn't come along this time too if it is not for ah yee who brought her to do sightseeing and even the Macau casino. As for ah yee, she had to put up with popo's grumbling a lot this trip but would definitely appreciate the time spent with popo in view of her impending return to France. So mission accomplished for everybody. Hehe.

HKG Day 4

We had breakfast at the usual 茶餐厅 near to the hotel. The food is really delicious and for a decent price. We took the MTR to Admiralty and then bus to Ocean Park. We took so much public transport this trip that I think we had become an expert. Lol.

Ocean Park was very crowded and it was full of PRCS. I regretted chosing to go to Ocean Park on a Saturday. Maybe it would have been better if we had visited the Park on a weekday. Ocean Park was  also less fun than what I remembered it should be. There aren't that many rides that are suitable for the kids.

When we arrived at the Park, a Photographer enthusiastically offered to take our pictures. I ended up buying very expensive pictures and felt very much like a tourist. Lol. But at least we had a decent family picture taken.

The photographer also kindly suggested a route to take to visit the park. We took a monorail to go up the mountain. Ocean Park is stretched over a mountain. The ride was nice, we had the visual effects that we were in a submarine, taking to break free from a giant octopus.

The view at the top was fantastic.

The Ocean Park Tower was one of the few friendly for all ride and with a short q when we were there. But Lil Isaac insisted that it was too scary for him and refused to board. I had to watch Daddy Lim and Lil Shauna take the ride. Bleh.

Then, we caught a seal and dolphin show that wasn't that fantastic. The one that we caught in Sea World, Gold Coast was much better. There were plenty of thrilling rides but Lil Shauna not tall enough plus there were long queues everywhere.

Lil Shauna was very upset after being told many times that she isn't tall enough. She commented that she doesn't want to ride baby rides but it too short for the adult rides. We did manage to ride on one of the friendlier roller coaster but the q was very long and she was in the q with Daddy Lim for almost 1 hour while Lil Isaac and I waited and visited smelly penguins. Lil Isaac actually made the height requirement for the roller coaster rides and had taken many other roller coaster rides. However, he insisted that it was too scary for him.

We visited the famous jellyfishes as well. That place always remain me of alien invasion. Lol.

We then took the cable car to where we started. The view was fantastic.

And we made silly faces.

We had lunch in Ocean Park and lunch was just as expensive as Disney land. Though the portion was decent, which I supposed they had to - a S$20 chicken rice. Then, we headed for the kiddy rides, which were crowded with many, many other kids. We only took the frog ride, which Lil Isaac really likes and he went on it like 5 times. Lil Shauna self entertained at the playground until she was so bored and we had to stop Lil Isaac from going for more.

Soon, it was time to go home and the kids were reluctant to go despite not having many rides to go on as they know that we would be heading back to Singapore the next day. Unfortunately, we didnt have a choice. Lil Isaac napped on the way back and we had a peaceful ride back to the hotel, where we met Popo and Ah yee, whom had returned from Macau, for dinner. Ah yee treated us to roasted meat dinner with the $$ that she made at the Macau casino.

We attempted more shopping after dinner but was tough with the weekend crowd at the night market. We did get some last minute shopping down and returned to the hotel room for packing and resting.
