Lil Isaac hasn't been waking up for night feed since we came back from Desaru. Well, his growth spurt seems to have ended, though I don't see any significant growth. Lol. His milk intake have dropped, which probably explained the drop in night feed.
I am please. He should be sleeping through. He is already 20th month. Jiejie slept through when she was 6 months. With the amount of solids that he takes everyday, I know he is getting enuff and don't worry about he forgoing that one bottle in the night. My beauty sleep is just as important.
Ok, now step 2 of the plan is to get jiejie to sleep with us. 加油!

Music Class
Lil Shauna finished 2 terms of her Yahama Music Wonderland classes yday. The class ends with a mini concert and family members were invited. The kids were to put up a solo and also performed as a group the pieces that they learnt in class.
Lil Shauna is the only girl left in the class of 7. A few of the boys were extra mischievous last night, interrupting the performances at different points. Lil Shauna was an angel amidst the monkeys, superbly well-behaved. I can picture Lil Isaac like a monkey too if he is to perform.
Bcos the kids were so distracted by the audiences, the performance was sub-standard compared to what they usually do in class. I was secretly glad when it was finally over.
Lil Shauna was issued with her ever first certificate for completing the class. I am so proud of her. We are starting her Yahama Music Wonderland next Wednesday. I was still hoping for a break. Lol.

Dream
Lil Shauna woke up while we were preparing for work and asked:
LS: Pappy, where are the children?
DL: Baby, I think you had a dream.
LS: .....
DL: How many children were there?
LS: 3 children, 1 boy and 2 girls.
DL: The boy is Lil Isaac?
LS: No, not Lil Isaac (she's getting agitated that we didn't know what's she's talking about). Bigger than Lil Isaac.
DL: Oh, ok (and Daddy Lim left the room).
LS: (Jumped off the bed and went to Lil Isaac's room and back) Mummy, why I can't find the children?
ML: That is bcos you had a dream and they were in your dream.
LS: No!
ML: Hmmm.. Are they the same children that you saw in your phonics make-up class last night.
LS: (Pause and think) No.
ML: Hmmm... Do you want a milk?
LS: Yes.
ML: Ok, I ask Popo to make. (escaped...)
Well, at least she's not talking about some weird characters standing at the corner NOW.

Haircut
Lil Shauna's hair is getting a little too long. We always end up battling with the knots. The ends are too dry. After much coaxing and sharing that Rapunzel does go for hair trim every now and then, she agreed.
Lil Isaac needed a haircut more than jiejie. However, the last 2 haircut at the salon were hellish. We were all deeply traumatized. We hoped that he would endure the haircut better if he sees jiejie at it.
He did had his haircut. Daddy Lim and I were dancing around to distract him and we gave him plenty of candies. He didn't reject the electric shaver as well and I encouraged to the hairdresser to shave off as much as possible. I need to prolong our next agonizing trip to the salon.
Lil Isaac looks good! He looks like a boy now. And what big ears he has.. Hmmmm...

Thank You Daddy Lim
Our shopping trip is fully sponsored by Daddy Lim. Nope, he didn't offer. I just told him that he will foot the bill. We didn't go far, just H&M. We didn't spend that much either. Lil Shauna was a happy girl. She has got a new dress and plenty of accessories.
Thank you Pappy and Happy Fathers' Day. Hohoho.
Muaks.

Touched Up
It has been a month since I done my eyebrow and I absolutely love how hassle free it is to not have to draw my brow in the morning. I think I cut down 5 mins from my makeup time.
However, I am still not quite use to how short and fat they are. I used to draw mine long and thin.
It is time for touched up and some of the colors have faded. I have also requested for the lady to draw it longer. It is the same numbing cream process but the whole thing took much shorter this time. I was out in under an hour and I love my newly touched up brow. Hehe.
Now, I am on my way back to pick Lil Shauna. I have promised to bring her shopping to earn my hour's off to do my brow. What's more, I have managed to convince ah yee to take urgent leave. Hohoho.. Ah yee, see you in town.

Music Class
Lil Shauna has attended her Yamaha music introductory class for 2 terms. She wanted to continue and I have signed her up for the next level, which involves playing on the keyboard. We need to get a keyboard. I hope she doesn't give up after that bcos a keyboard is not cheap.
The introductory class will make it easier for the kids should the parents decide to proceed them on with the some kind of instruments in the future. Actually, I was skeptical of how useful the introductory classes are. I know my kids are no genius and I have no intention to convert them into some musical prodigy. I am just happy to accompany Lil Shauna for classes, something that I used to do before she turns 3. Now, all her classes are independent classes.
However, interestingly, she really did learn something. We were at Mac last night with the Chan Family and Mac was blasting the usual pop music. Lil Shauna actually caught the beat of the song played and counted and clapped to it. I was amazed. Hohoho. At least my investment didn't go down the drain. Now, I feel justified to pay more for her to proceed on. I can also fulfill my dream of learning the keyboard. I had always wanted to learn piano. I guessed the keyboard isn't too bad either. Hehe.

Auntie
It is coming to the 3rd month and Auntie is still with us... at least for now. I don't really have much of a problem with her, largely bcos I do not spend a lot of time with her. I chose not to interfere in how Popo disciplines her. It is painful getting caught in the middle and I don't want Popo to think that I am taking Auntie's side when Popo is clearly acting funny.
Auntie is definitely not fantastic. I think Auntie MA is much better. However, after so many maids, I have learnt how to close both eyes. I realized that my expectations ate already much lower and I chose to do many things myself. In fact, I don't trust Auntie many times. Well, better be safe than sorry.
If I were to find fault, I can find plenty. Lil Isaac fell plenty in her care. I know it is not her fault at times. He is fine and so I let go. She takes forever in the toilet. I can never fathom why she needs to be in there for so long, even when she isn't taking a bath. She takes forever to eat too. The rule goes: "take turn". Many times, Popo helped with Lil Isaac and I helped Lil Shauna while I eat at the same time. Auntie gets to slowly enjoy her meal and takes forever. I may even finished earlier than her despite feeding Lil Shauna and myself. She seem not to realise that we have not eaten. She just takes forever.
She is stubborn too, insisting to do things her way sometimes. She is like a kid herself and gets distracted easily, often forgetting that she is supposed to look after the kids. She always ended up working on the art and craft when she was actually supposed to help the kids. She tried to help on things that we do not need help and doesnt when we need, like how she would use her hand to check on Lil Isaac after we confirmed with a thermometer, yet not helping to prepare the medicine. Haiz. These are just the tip of the iceberg.
Auntie has threatened to leave once. On another occasion, Popo and my sil went out on their own with the kids and 2 maids. Apparently, she got reprimanded or something. She threw a tantrum! She hid in one corner and refused to come out. My bro's maid had to coax her to come out. I did warn her that time. I would have flared if she has done that in my presence.
A lot of times, I think it is really miscommunication breakdown between Popo and her. Popo is definitely not patient with her and her tone towards her is scarily fierce when she insists that she is not scolding Auntie. I somehow think that it is a time bomb.
This will be our last maid for awhile. If she quits, the kids will both go to the childcare. I already promised myself that. She better don't step on my toe or irk me. Don't accelerate your own departure pls. Lol.

Back Again
Sob! We are back. Happy times pass too quickly. It was a relaxing trip. Everything went on fine. I had a good time catching up with the mummies. The kids were all fairly cooperative. Most importantly, we survived the almost 2 hours drive to and back from Desaru.
I do not have any more trips to look forward to. I better plan something to motivate me and keep me going. Boo!
Where? When?
Hohoho.

Bubble Show
All thanks to our dear neighbor, we have got 4 free tickets to watch Fan Yang, Gazilion Bubble show at MBS. Hohoho. The show was at 7.30pm on last Thursday and it was a mad rush, from work to home to pick up the kids' stuff, to Centris to pick up the kids and finally braving our way through the snail paced traffic.
We made it safe and sound and in time. Lil Isaac was a little cranky. His little nose was leaking and he refused to sit in his car seat. But otherwise, we were as happy as can be.
I was worried that Lil Isaac couldn't sit through the 1.5hr show. I was even prepared to bring him out of the theatre, walked the mall to wait for Daddy Lim and jiejie, if need be. Interestingly, he was ok while waiting for the show to start. I guessed the crowd and lights were good distractions. However, he lost interest shortly after the show started. Well, our seats are somewhere in the middle of the theatre and bubbles aren't very big. The potato chips came to our rescue. He kept munching until certain segments when gazilion bubbles or humongous bubbles appeared on stage.
We were also prepared to leave the show earlier if need be. However, Lil Isaac managed to last until the end of the show. Jiejie enjoyed every bit of it. The show ended at 9ish and we made it home at almost 10pm.

Take Turns
This has become our nightly routine.
After we have all taken our baths, we spend time as a family. Then i will bring Lil Isaac to his room for bed at 9ish. He is usually in lala land before 10pm. Meanwhile, Daddy Lim will accompany and entertain jiejie, from story reading to play pretend. This will last until 10pm and then lights go off.
Our princes bed tactics has failed. Lil Shauna still prefers to sleep in our bed and now sleeps on the big bed with Daddy Lim. I ended up spending the nights with Lil Isaac. -.-"
I had been lazy. After I tucked didi to bed, I chose not to go back to our room and allowed Daddy Lim to handle the princess. Hohoho. I go on fb, play games on my iPhone, watch dramas on my iPad, blogged, like now. There are plenty to keep me entertained. Hohoho.
At times where Lil Isaac is very tired and sleeps very quickly after his milk, Daddy Lim eyed me with envy. Too bad, he can't tuck Lil Isaac to bed. Hohoho.

Recovering
We are all on the mend. I am definitely done with the runs. Otherwise, I will be severely dehydrated now. Sadly, I also gained whatever that I have lost. Boo!
The other adults do still sound nasal and are still coughing. However, they do sound much better too.
Lil Isaac is recovering too. His little nose is still leaking but his fever doesn't peaked as high as previously. The interval between his fever spikes are also getting longer. He should be fine soon.
Lil Shauna is the hardest nut to crack. We thought she will recover very quickly after we brought her to the doctor the second time. However, the phlegm and mucus are still plaguing her. I think she should be fine, just a little while more. The only good thing is that she has no fever and the flu seems not at all bothering her. It bothers her parents more.
I thought we will all be well by the time we hit the road on Saturday. It is no fun traveling with the bugs. Shoo, shoo, shoo.

Sick Tiger
Lil Isaac got it hardest among us all. It should be a viral infection, a different flu strain from the rest of us bcos he is the only one who came down with high fever. The doctor said that his throat looks ok, so it is probably not a throat infection. We were not given any antibiotics.
The flu symptoms are still mild but his fever was difficult to tame. At one point, we had to alternate between bufen and paracetamol to try to keep the fever down. In fact, we were waiting for time to pass so that we can feed him fever medicine.
He measured 39 degrees at the clinic. Back home, he didn't seem to cross 38.5 degrees most of the time, but he felt hot. I thought he was beyond 38.5 degrees but the thermometer said otherwise. For those of u who knew about how Lil Isaac ended up in the hospital with a hight fever when he was 15 days old, yet his temperature was not picked up by the thermometer will know why I always doubt my thermometer, even though I have changed the old one. And I am always paranoid when Lil Isaac comes down with a fever.
Lil Isaac stayed at home the entire day. So jiejie got to go to JP with me in the early afternoon while Lil Isaac naps and go for the Madagascar movie with Daddy Lim in the late afternoon. Lil Isaac stayed at home with Mummy, ah yee and uncle ichi. We bought a Xbox kinnect and had lots of fun. That, I will blog about separately.
Lil Isaac still feels feverish. In fact, the fever didn't seem to leave him at all. This must be the must-get-sick-before-holiday syndrome. My only comfort is that it is fairly easy to feed Lil Isaac medicine.
Pls recover before our trip. Let's all enjoy ourselves during the trip. Mummy has been looking forward to this trip, so much such that her neck has grown longer.

Last Man Standing... All Down
Popo and auntie are down with flu. Lil Shauna hasn't recover since Daddy Lim passed her his dry cough, which then developed into a full blown flu with thick mucus that clogged her little nose. We brought her to the doctor again and she seems better now.
Daddy Lim recovered from his dry, irritating cough after struggling with it for almost 3 weeks. Now, it is Lil Shauna's turn to share her viruses with him. Daddy Lim just came down with full blown flu. -.o"
I recovered from an urinary track infection last week. It was my very first and it was totally horrible. Luckily the antiboditics work wonder and I recover quickly. However, I had been battling a very bloated tummy since Tuesday evening. On Friday night, my tummy acted up and I ran to the toilet at least 10 times.
Lil Isaac is our last man standing. I hope he stays strong but I thought he sounded phlegmy last night. Boo! Our house is full of germs now and ah yee chose to come back yday. Hohoho.

The Morning Train
I had to take the train for a morning external meeting on Tuesday. It was a horrific experience and I pity the commuters who have to do this everyday. I am pampered. Daddy Lim chauffeured me to and fro work everyday. It suddenly seem like a blessing to work in ulu, ulu Tuas and start work at super early hours.
I took the 7.30am train, which in my opinion is quite an early timing. The station was crowded and commuters were all standing in the yellow box, waiting for the train. Suddenly, all of SMRT's hard work to educate commenters to be polite and Q up went down the drain.
The commuters rushed into the train the moment the train door opened and dived for the seats. I didn't fight hard enuff and didnt get a seat and was standing near to the door.
The train was relatively empty until the Jurong East station. Doors on both side of the train opened at this station and humans swamped into the train. Instantly, all visible space disappeared yet quite a number of people were unable to make it onto the train.
When the train was pulling out of the station, it was jam packed. I was standing shoulder to shoulder to the persons on my left and right. Somebody's bag was constantly shoving up my ass. I think people will start fainting if somebody with bad breathe starts talking or somebody with body odor raises his arm.
I seriously advise seniors and those who need a seat not to take the morning train. A heavily lady was standing behind me and there is no way those who had a seat can see her bcos they are either closing their eyes (sleeping?), concentrating so hard on they iPad/ phones or blocked by those standing in front of them. Even if anyone genuinely wanted to give up his seat, there is no way that the preggy woman will b able to make it to the seat.
It felt like forever before the train finally pulls up at Buona Vista. I was worried that I couldn't make it out and was super relieve when I was finally out. I even took a breather at the platform before I made my way out of the station.
I swear I will quit my job if I am made to travel like that everyday. Now I understand why people complain that badly about the MRT being overcrowded - cars are unaffordable, buses are too slow bcos there are too many car and the MRT is jam packed, not forgetting the crazy breakdowns.
I also realized that I have a phobia for crowds. I get paranoid and worried that I will faint when the MRT gets too crowded. Hmmmm... another reason why Daddy Lim should fetch me.

Milk Now
I think Lil Isaac secretly reads my blog. Bcos, shortly after I ranted on my blog about his poor milk intake, he started doing the opposite.
Popo says that he is finishing his milk and has been asking for milk during the day. This is on top of his good appetite for solids and the constant snacking. Similarly, he is finishing every drop in his bottle for his last feed and even protested when I pulled the empty bottle out of his mouth. Just, he emptied 160ml, more than his usual.
For the past few nights, he had been waking up twice every night asking for milk (he pronounces it as "mog"). Each time, he emptied his bottle. Yes, I am tired but he looks mad cute when he flashes me his mega smile at the sight of his bottle. At that moment, it doesn't matter that it is the 2nd time that I waking up or that I only have another hour before I have to pull myself away from the comfy bed for work. Everything is worth it.
It should be a growth spurt. Popo is so exaggerating. She said that Lil Isaac feels heavier already. What? He only started increasing his intake a few days ago lor.

Holy Communion
It has been almost a month since we went back to church. My mum and Lil Isaac accompany us each time. Although Popo insisted that she isn't really going to church since she didn't enter the worship hall, I hope that accompanying the kids to the Sunday school helps to influence her.
Lil Shauna took a while to warm up. She is now in the nursery class that is largely independent. However, I couldn't let go and still accompany her or get auntie to accompany her.
Lil Shauna seems very much comfortable last Sunday and didn't look for me when I asked auntie to accompany her instead. It was also Communion Sunday and the bigger kids, nursery and above, get to join in the Communion.
It was Lil Shauna's first Communion. She didn't really know what was happening but merely followed her friends into the hall. I felt so touched seeing her took her first Communion. I had to hold back my tears.
When she was done, I asked her what happened and she told me that she was given biscuit to eat and juice to drink. Hehe. I tried to explain to her the significance behind but I don't think she quite got it.
You probably can't spot her. She's in her usual pink. My baby is growing up!

Hair Cut
I cut Lil Isaac's hair! His hair is getting a little too long but he hated the hair dresser very much. He shakes his head vigorously when we asked if he wants a haircut everytime. It is both traumatizing for him and us when we bring him to the hairdresser. He even trumatised the last hairdresser who cut his hair. If u see the way that he cries, screams and struggles, you will think that we put him through much more than just a hair cut.
Daddy Lim commented that I should learn hairdressing so as to avoid subjecting us to such pains. Win already, another worthy cause to celebrate Mothers' Day. Mummies must work, take care of kids, help them in their school work and now, learn hairdressing.
I did not learn hairdressing, but I found a very interesting shaver left behind by ah yee. It comes in the form a blade hidden within a comb. So it shaves off the hair as I combed. It isnt the best way to cut Lil Isaac's hair but it helps to make it shorter. Lil Isaac was cooperative. He is amazed at the hair that I shaved off and enjoyed playing with them. Jiejie was very helpful in sweeping the hair on the floor and throwing them away.
It may not be professional standard but we successfully avoided the need to go to the hairdresser for now. Come to think of it, I used to wonder why some kids cry like hell when they have a hair cut. Now, it is happening to me. -.o"

Egglets
I tried the egglets many years back when I went to HKG with ah yee. I remember that they taste pretty great. We didn’t get to eat these the subsequent times that we went to HKG as we stayed off the populous streets. The places that we visited do not have the such HKG snacks.
I saw them in Singapore a while back. Tealicious, one the bubble tea shops is selling it. I tried and it wasn’t good. There was a bitter taste to it. Then, this shop opened in JP a few months back. Their egglets are really nice.
My guess is that the boss is a HKGer. He was pretty rude at one point. He probably brought the recipe all the way from HKG. The egglets taste good but it took a long time to bake them, as if they were done using some authentic, traditional baking method. There is always a long Q. That day, I ordered 2 egglets and there were 20 other orders before me. By the time I received my egglets and joined Daddy Lim for dinner, he had ordered his Carl Jr dinner, finished it and was playing games on his iPhone. He also finished my share of the Carl Jr onion rings. Blehhh…
Daddy Lim tried the egglets but didn’t fancy them bcos they are just plain flour. He is a carnivore, he needs meat. I was eager to share the eggs with the kids and brought the egglets to Centris. They are very popular and wiped out in no time.

Popo is Good
I have been complaining about Popo, her quirks and all. A colleague stared at me in disbelief when I briefly shared that it is tough to live with my mum. I must have sounded like some ungrateful, unfilial brat. I should be frightened during thunderstorms and hide to prevent getting struck by lightning.
Well, it is indeed not easy to live with Popo. I think I have said enuff – one mountain cannot contain 2 tigers. However, we cannot do without her either. With her around,
1. The house is always clean. I cannot imagine me having to pick up the toys, sweep and mop after tucking the kids to bed. Now, I get to enjoy surfing net, watching dramas on my iPad after the kids turned in.
2. I never have to worry about housework. Without me having to ask, the houseworks are well taken care of. The laundry basket emptied by itself, the toilet automatically cleans itself, the dishes at the sink disappears, the bedsheets are always clean.
3. The kids are well-taken care of. They are definitely well-fed. Despite the parents having very little time to spend with them, the kids are growing up well, behaved and disciplined. This allows us to be at peace when at work.
4. She helps us to look after the kids while we run errands, go for couple time and/ or get “time-off” from the kids to spend on ourselves.
5. She helps to look after the kids even when we are at home so that we could sneak a little rest, a moment to stare into the blanks even the kids are bouncing and fighting for attention.
6. She gave the kids love and warmth, when we are not around.
7. There is always food at home. One can never get hungry at my house. During the last gathering, the dining table overflowed with food. It was as if I had magically plates and bowls that kept producing piping hot food.
So I guessed I just have to reduce myself to a cat and give the mountain to her? I think I have to learn to remember her good and the sacrifices that she made for my family. She has no obligations to help me with my kids and family, but she did and so willingly despite all the noises that I made when I show her attitude and threw tantrum at her. Oops, yes I did, at 33 YO, I still throw tantrums at my mum and torture her. See, mothers are noble, must celebrate Mothers’ Day.

What??!!!
I was rushing out of office, trying to get a ride from colleague, who needs to rush home to look after his kids.
I realized these are what I wore home only at my doorsteps. I am mortified.
